1.0 WHAT IS ETERNAL LIFE?

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent”(John 17:3). This is the life of God revealed in Jesus Christ, who is God. This is called eternal, because it is from eternity past to eternity future. Eternal life is the divine nature of God. It is on the inside of Elohim (God). He lives forever because of this zoe (The life of God). In Him is the life. The life is the light of men. Eternal life was and is with/in the Father and was manifested to us in Jesus the Son of God.

2.0 JESUS IS THE LIFE

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life”(1.John 5:20). Apostle John knows Jesus the Son of God. And that is why He is using these wonderful revelation to us. We know Jesus is the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of God. Jesus has given us an understanding to know the true God. God’s Son is true. The Bible says: Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. Knowing the truth gives you freedom. We must worship the true God. We should not make false gods. We should not worship idols. Idol worship is an iniquity of your forefathers and their generations. It makes God angry towards you. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. Idol making or worshipping is against the first and second of the ten commandments of God:

“ And God spoke all these words, saying: I am the LORD YOUR God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth”(Exodus 20:1-4).

Jehovah is our God. He brought us out of the land of Egypt. Egypt represents the house of bondage. Satan is the head of people who are in bondage of sin. Egypt is the place of idols. Replacing people with Robots (it is a machine like a human being) is an iniquity and sin. You should not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of Sun, Moon, stars, animals, birds, marine organisms, Human beings etc., It is a sin against God. Sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god. Do not take up their names on your lips. Hate this iniquity and sin of idol worship. Repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out. Change your lifestyle and behaviour for your good life.

The Prophet Jeremiah says: “ But the LORD is the true God ; He is the Living God and the everlasting king. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to abide His indignation ( Jere.10:10).

Knowing God and His Son Jesus Christ is the eternal life. Jesus prayed for His disciples and me and you in His High Priestly prayer in John Chapter 17. When you receive eternal life in your spirit on the inside of you, you are a born again child of the Almighty God. If you do not have Jesus on the inside of you, you are a child of the devil, the old serpent. He is the Prince of the power of the air, a liar and murderer of human beings. Repent today and begin to believe on the True God. You shall have eternal life.

3.0 D0 CHRISTIANS WORSHIP IDOLS?

Apostle John says in His first epistle General:“Little Children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen”( 1. John 5:21). John did not say that you are little gods. He said that the born again new believers in faith in Jesus the Son of God, are belonging to the category of little children of God. They are born of God. You should keep yourselves from idols. There are so many idols in the world. What are the idols of Christian believers? Covetousness ( love of money) is idolatry. The Apostle Paul calls these people as the children of disobedience. Let us read his letter to Colossians:

“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry. Because of the these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience”(Colossians 3:5,6). Repent form this idol of covetousness. God wants to change your life and behaviour.

4.0 HOW TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE?

“Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, ”Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?(Luke 18:18). “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death to life”( John 5:24).

The story of the Rich young ruler wanting to inherit eternal life is written in all the three synoptic Gospels: Matthew, Mark and Luke. John says that whoever believes Jesus the Son of God and His words will inherit eternal life. Eternal life is for all: rich and poor, young and old, educated and unlearned, Male and Female, Jews and Gentiles. Things which are impossible with men are possible with God. You can have eternal life and become a child of God. The qualification is faith in God. Have faith in Jesus who loved you, shed His precious blood on Calvary, died for us and was buried and rose again after three days from the grave. Jesus conquered death on the cross and He is alive today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. You shall be saved. Your entire household shall be saved.

Jesus said:” God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”(St. John 3:16). The Good News consists of 5 things: 1. The love of God, 2. The Son of God, 3. The faith of God, 4.The compassion of God, 5. The life of God. This is the divine good news. God loves you. He gave His Son Jesus. Whoever believes in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, will not go to hell ( the lake of fire), but you will have everlasting life.We are the children of the Almighty God.

5.0 PRAYER : JESUS IS LORD

Let us pray: Father God, Praise the LORD. Forgive my sins of idol worship. I repent and turn to You, the true and Living God. LORD Jesus, come into my heart and give me everlasting life. Fill me with the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit. I love you Lord Jesus my God and Savoir. Bless me, for I am your son. Prosper and empower me for your glory. I shall be a living witness for you Jesus. Thank You Lord. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
