Introduction: When man turned away from God in disobedience, he lost the blessing and protection of God. Man came under a curse and the power of the Devil. Then the Devil was able to bring pain and weakness and sickness to man’s body.
However, God in His mercy still desires to bless men. God still wants to save man from his sin and from sickness. Christ Jesus bore our sins and also our sicknesses when He died for us on the cross. This is the good news of salvation.
Therefore by faith in Jesus – we may now receive physical healing for our bodies, as well as forgiveness and peace for our souls.

Memory Work: 1 Peter 2:24

“ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed”.

  10. What three things did the Apostle John wish for his Christian friend? ( III John 2) 1. Your soul will prosper 2. You will be in health in all things 3. You will prosper in all things.
The Devil has certain names: Satan, Serpent, the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air, thief. The Devil tempted and deceived the first man Adam to disobey God and he became a first sinner. Because of this sinful act, pain, sickness and death came to man. The Bible says that,” the wages of sin is death”.
It is Satan, who brought sickness on Job. The Devil smote Job with boils. Sickness is part of the works of the Devil ( 1 John 3:8). God is JEHOVAH our Doctor ( Jesus Christ is healing doctor). For example, the woman which had an encounter with Jesus the LORD was totally delivered and healed.
The Beloved Elder Gaius was a faithful person in the church and he walked in the truth. Therefore deserved apostolic blessing of prosperity and health and complete salvation.
“ Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers” ( III John 2).

  19. Does God ever change? ( Mal. 3:6) No. Never.
  20. Does Christ Jesus ever change? ( Heb. 13:8) Never. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and Today and forever.
The promises of Physical healing is for Christians today. All the precious promises of God are for us now. That includes all christens. This means whatever promises fits my situation and meets my need are for me now. These precious and exceeding great promises are given unto us freely, so that we might become partakers of His divine nature.
The Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are actively present in the ministry of healing. The Father anointed the Son with the Holy Spirit. The result was healing for all. The anointing of God is the supernatural power of God. The healing of people is the perfect will of God. Jesus came to this world to do the will of the Father. Any person who came to Jesus in faith was healed. The four Gospels show this in every case of healing. The truth of the Gospel is rock solid and unchanging. The Gospel’s unchanging truth is based on the unchanging nature of God Himself.
“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” ( Malachi 3:6)

B. THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST’S DEATH ON THE CROSS

  1. List three things did Christ Jesus bore in our place. ( Matt. 8:17) ( 1 Peter 2:24) (a) Our infirmities (b) our sicknesses (c) our sins
  2. As a result, what three outcomes can we have in our lives? ( 1 Peter 2:24) (1) we can be dead to sins (2) we can live unto righteousness (3) we can be healed
  3. Who was made a curse in our place? ( Gal.3:13) Christ was made a curse in our place.
  4. From what has Jesus redeemed us ? ( Gal. 3:13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.
  5. How many kinds of sickness were included in the curse of the law? ( Deut.28:15, 21- 22, 27-28, 35 and 59-61). Every kind of sickness were included in the curse of the law.
  6. Which does God tell us to choose... blessing or curse? ( Deute. 30:19) Choose blessing.

Memory Work: 1 Peter 2:24

“ Who His own self bare our sins, in His own body, on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes, ye were healed”.
Isaiah 53:4-5 verses quoted in the New Testament by the Apostles ( 1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17) “ Surely He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains”. He is Christ Jesus. From 1 Peter 2:24, the word healed in Greek is doctor. This Doctor is great because he took all our sicknesses on His own body on the cross.
Breaking God’s law bring curse on us. This is described in Deut. 28: 15-18. It includes every form of sickness. God sets out two opposite pairs.(a) life and blessing and (b)death and cursing. It is left to man to choose. Let us choose life ( who is Jesus Himself) and thereby, it results in blessing.
“ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live”( Deut. 30:19). Choose life. And you and your seed will live. Amen.
