My Dear Family of God,

Greetings to you in the precious Name of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Peace be unto you. In this letter of mine to you, dear people of God, I would like to share with you five important life concepts/principles, which will make your life worth of living:

  1. The Book of Life
  2. The Peace of God
  3. Power of Christ, the Anointed
  4. The Philippians’ Gifts
  5. The Loving care of God our Father

All these vital truths are from the fourth chapter of Philippians, Verses 1 to 23.

1. The Book of Life

The Apostle calls the believers as my joy, my crown, my dearly beloved, my brethren. These are words of affection. The instructions are: Be of the same mind in the Lord, help those who laboured with me in the Gospel, and rejoice in the Lord.

When we abide in the words of the Lord and help do the gospel work, we shall always have a happy supernatural life. Because, our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Rev. 3:5, 20:15 speak about the book of life.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev 3:5. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:15.

Listen what the spirit says to the churches: When you believe Jesus the son of God, you have eternal life in your spirit, and you are the born again child of the Living God. And your spiritual names are written in the book of life. Jesus will confess your name before the Father and His angels. What a glorious confession! Dearly beloved, Rejoice in the LORD. Your names, e.g. success, Victor, Mark, Sandra, Paul, are written in Jesus book of life.

  • Abide in Jesus, the True Vine
  • Help do the Gospel Work
  • Rejoice in the Lord
  • Live a Overcoming Life
  • Confess Jesus publically as your Lord and Savior.

2. The Peace of God

  • Peace, be still. Mk. 4:39
  • Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of the plague Mk 5:34
  • Peace, be unto you. Lk 24:36
  • Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. Jn. 20:21
  • Salt is good:... Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mk. 9:50
  • Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. Jn. 14:27.

Jesus gives you peace of mind. Are you facing storms in your life? Do you have issue of blood for 12 years? Are you afraid of Roman soldiers and hiding in an upper room? Are you reluctant to do gospel work? Do you have problem with one another? Are you troubled and afraid? Whatever be your conditions, whatever be your problems or situations, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He says “Peace be unto you”.

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks giving let your requests be made unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your heart and minds through Christ Jesus”. (Phili 4:6, 7).

The one essential cure for worry is prayer, the prayers of Petition, with thanksgiving. Do not worry about your situation. Let your requests be known unto God. As a result of our communion with God, the peace of God comes to guard your hearts and minds. God strengthens us to do all things. He desires of us.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever; for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength: (Isaiah 26: 3,4).

Stay your mind on Him. Trust in the LORD. The perfect peace. He provides, is your strength. Love the word of God, and you will have Great Peace.

3. Power of Christ, the Anointed

He empowers you. Christ’s power and grace enables us to do all that he has asked us to do. Our ability to do what He wills comes from His enabling power. To experience God’s peace, believers must fix their minds to think or things which are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, etc. If you do these things, says Paul, “the God of Peace Shall be with you”.
Let us read the good experience of Apostle Paul:

“I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phili 4:12:13)

God’s anointing, His anointed One Jesus strengthens you. Therefore, as believers filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, you can do all things through Christ Jesus.

Confession: “I CAN DO all things through Christ, who Strengthens me”.

Confession leads you to possession of God’s Power.

Power = Workdone / Time. P = w/t

Work = Force * Displacement

W = Fs

Energy is capacity to do work. It is the energy required to do I Joule of Work. Energy is provided in many different forms. Energy is the requirement for any activity.

Power is defined as the rate of doing work or the rate of transfer of energy. Let me explain power with a simple example.

Example 1: A boy of mass 50 kg runs up a staircase of 45 steps in 9s. If the height of each step is 15 cm, find his power, Take g=10 m/s2

Solution: Weight of the boy, mg = 50kg x 10 m/s2 = 500 N

Height of the staircase, h = 45 * (15/100) m = 6.75 m

Time taken to climb, t = 9s

From Power Equation, P = w/t

Power, P = Work done/time taken

= mgh/t

= (500N*6.75m)/9s

= 375W

Power is 375W

(1 watt = 1 Joule / second)

Our Lord Jesus Christ promised to His disciples that they will receive greater power, to evangelize the whole world: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is Come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of earth” (Act 1:8)

You can go into villages, towns, cities to preach the Gospel, heal the sick and deliver the demon possessed. Jesus sent His disciples with a spiritual Ph.D. degree! What is that Spiritual Ph.D programme?

Example 2: * Preach the Gospel = P

* Heal the sick = H

* Deliver the demon possessed = D

This assignment, we can do through the Power of the Holy Spirit, This Jesus Ph.D. is 10 times or 100 times better than secular university Ph.D. Jesus said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”, Mk 16:15.

4. The Philippians’ Gifts

The Philippians Church was a missionary church that ministered to Paul’s needs during his travels (vv. 15-17; 1:4-5). Missionary support is honored and accepted by God as “an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God’ (V. 18). Thus, what we give to the support of a faithful missionary is regarded as an offering brought to God. Remember the words of our Lord Jesus:

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verify I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matt.25:40).

What have you done it to the least of my brethren?

Example 3: * I was hungry, you gave me meat,

* I was thirsty, you gave me drink

* I was a stranger, you took me in

* Naked, you clothed me,

* I was in prison, you came to me,

* I was sick, you visited me.

Have you done these? you have done it to Jesus our Lord. Come, you are blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

5. The Loving Care of God our Father

The Apostle Paul emphasizes the loving care of God the Father for His Children. He will meet all your needs (material and spiritual) as you present them to Him. The Bible promises to give hope and encouragement to God’s people concerning His care and help:

* The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. (Psalm 34:10)

* The LORD will give grace and glory. (Ps. 84:10)

* I will open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10)

* How much more shall your Father which is Heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matt. 7:11)

* Casting all your care upon Him: for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

God knows what you need. He is our good father. He will not suffer you, because of your lack and needs. He wants to bless you, prosper you and supply all your needs. He wants to perform that first miracle in your life.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen (Philippians 4:19, 20)”.

Praise the LORD. God bless you.
