Regeneration is being made a new creation by the power of the Holy Spirit and God's Word. The New Birth is Road to the Salvation experience and consequently to Heaven the most beautiful place in the Universe.

1. Definition:

What is regeneration or New Birth? It means spiritual rebirth or Recreation. You and me becoming New Man in Christ.

The Bible says: "Therefore if any man be in Christ (the Anointed One), he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new".2.Corinthians 5:17

2. Necessity of Regeneration:

All men need to be born again. All of us were or are bad sinners. Sex, age, position or condition doesn't matter. What matters is the necessity of New Birth or Being Born Again.

• Jewish people or we gentiles must be born again.
• An Ethiopian cannot change his skin or a leopard his spots. A change in character is needed. The human heart is deceitful and wicked. Change in heart and mind is necessary.

3. Nature of Regeneration:

1. It is not baptism.
2. It is not Reformation.
3. Regeneration is a spiritual quickening.

4. The Agents of the New Birth:

• The Word of God, 1.Peter 1:23:" Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever".
• The Spirit of God - The Holy Spirit:
  "Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee(Nicodemus), except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God". St. John 3:5.
  The ministry of the Holy Spirit convicts and converts the sinner to become a new person.

5. The Method of Regeneration:
i. The Divine Side: we are begotten by the will of God. Regeneration is a creative act on the part of God. He imparts His zoe life into our human spirit- the eternal life. We are born again children (sons and daughters) of God. "Which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God". St. John 1:13.

ii. The Human Side: We believe Jesus is the Word of God, the Creator of the world, the Life of God and the true light of the world. And we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons(daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His Name(Jesus). St. John 1:12.
To be born again, believe and receive Jesus and His Gospel. And this is the word by the Gospel is preached unto you. The Author of regeneration is God, the channel of Regeneration is Jesus Christ, the executive of Regeneration is the Holy Spirit; the medium of regeneration is through receiving Jesus Christ and believing the Word of God.

6. The Evidence of Regeneration:
Being born again produces sons and daughters of God. They are having changed life and their behaviour is changed. This life is called New Life.

1. New life of righteousness, 1.John 2:29.
2. New life of holiness, 1.John 3:9
3. New life of love, 1.John 4:7
4. New life of success, 1.John 5:4
5. New life of faith, 1.John 5:1

7. The Results of Regeneration:
The life is changed. The heart is changed. The words and behaviours are changed. Bad, gossiping, sinful, criticising behaviour is changed into a good, gentle, loving and beautiful life. New and holy desires spring up like a well of living water. Our words and behaviours are changed. Life is wonderful now to us. The new life overflows in love and good works(generosity) to others. The Holy Spirit takes lead in your new life.
Our Lord Jesus said:" He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water". St. John 7:38.

Prayer:
Our loving Father God, thank You for sending Jesus into the earth from Heaven. Thank You Jesus for Your wonderful words and Teaching. And most importantly, You shed Your precious Blood on the Cross of Calvary. You suffered and died for me Jesus and You rose again from the dead. Jesus is alive today. I believe in You Jesus and receive You into my heart and life. Come Lord Jesus. I love You because You first loved me. Thank You LORD. In Jesus precious Name, I pray. Amen.
