“ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope” ( chapter 1 verse 1)

Paul was a humble leader. This first verse reveals that character. He says, I am an apostle of Jesus Christ. He does not say: I am the apostle, I am the great apostle to the gentiles, I am the greatest apostle of all apostles of Jesus Christ. Humility is the number one quality of a spiritual leader.

Our Lord Jesus Christ , who is our number one leader lived and taught humility at a higher level of life. Jesus said: “ I am meek and lowly in heart” ( Matt. 11: 28-30). His workload is easy and His assignment is interesting and light. By accepting His leadership over you, you will find rest, refreshment and restoration to your souls. Let us come to Jesus to learn of Him. His follower Paul was a humble leader too in the church.

A charismatic leader is very humble. He prays earnestly for God’s plan. He takes humble place in the social events . He said: He who humbles himself shall be exalted. A wonderful gospel verse about humility is mark 10: 45:

“ For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,
and to give his life a ransom for many”.

LOVING PAUL

Secondly, a charismatic leader is a person endued, energized and equipped with divine love. He obeys the law of love. This law of love is good, which is contrary to the law of the world government. The judicial civil law is for to control and punish the following type of persons ( 1 Tim. 1:6-10):

1. the lawless,
2. disobedient,
3. the ungodly,
4. sinners,
5. unholy,
6. profane,
7. murders of fathers,
8. murders of mothers,
9. manslayers,
10. whoremongers,
11. them that defile themselves with mankind,
12. men stealers,
13. liars,
14. perjures persons and
15. any other thing contrary to sound doctrine.

The list provides strong information about bad people and wrong leaders who are worst and not spiritual. But, a godly leader follows the law of love. Let us study the definition of that special type of love:

“ Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience , and of faith unfeigned”( 1 Tim. 1:5).

The meaning of the commandment is love. KJV word for love is charity, which means kindness towards other people: to act out of charity. It also represents an organization that collects money to help people who are poor, sick, etc. or to do work that is useful to society; An example of charity is: we went on a walk to raise money for charity.

Charity is born out of

1. a pure heart,
2. a good conscience,
3. faith unfeigned.

This kind of love is God kind of love. We need to learn, grow and love people. Loove your neighbor as you love yourself. The good Samaritan proved this type of love towards a person who was wounded, beaten and robbed of his dignity on his way from Jerusalem to Jericho, by coming near to him ( leaders have eyes to see hurting, wounded, poor people), did first aid to him and carried him by the help of his donkey to the inn( hospital) and cared him by helping him to recover, restore and be replenished. Jesus said: Go and do likewise to inherit everlasting life. Loving God is practically demonstrated by loving people.

FAITHFUL PAUL

Trustworthiness. Someone with this trait is a person whose word can be relied on consistently and who is highly likely to do what he or she says. Faithful means: 1. always staying with and supporting a person, organization or belief : Peter has been a faithful friend: He was always faithful to his wife( = he didn’t have sexual relations with anyone else). Syn: loyal , opp: unfaithful. 2. true to the facts, accurate: a faithful description . faithfulness. ( dictionary definition).

Now let us study what Paul tells us about faithfulness:

“ And I thank Christ our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me
faithful, putting me into the ministry”( 1 Tim. 1:12).

BELIEVING PAUL

Paul believed on Him to life eternal. Before conversion ( change in mind and behavior), he was a blasphemer, and persecutor and injurious. But he obtained mercy, because he did it ignorantly in unbelief. He was an unbeliever, he did persecute the Christians because of ignorance, he was a bad guy. What happened in his life? Did he change his thoughts and behavior? Yes. A positive change happened in his life because of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. He graduated from unbeliever to a very good believer in Jesus Christ. Grace is the ability to move in a smooth and controlled way. Extra time that is allowed for. Here, the grace toward Paul was exceeding abundant. Jesus Christ showed forth all long suffering to him as a pattern for others to believe on Jesus to receive eternal life. Paul believed on the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ . Paul received the salvation. 1 Tim. 1:15 says:

“ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom, I am chief”.

What shall I do? If you need salvation, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be saved, your family shall be saved and blessed (The Family Blessing). Do not do any harm To yourself. Only believe. You shall receive everlasting life. You will become a new person. The well known Gospel verse tells us the GOOD news!

“ For God, so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him , should not perish , but have everlasting life “ ( St. John 3:16).

FATHER PAUL

A person’s male parent is called a father. John looks like his father. Father in R.C. religion is the title of Christian priests. Verb. To become a father: to father a child. The state of a being a father is fatherhood. ( dictionary meaning). In 1 Tim. 1:2 :

“ Unto Timothy, my own son in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace,
from God our Father and Jesus Christ our LORD”.

Timothy was Paul’s spiritual son. As a spiritual son, he gets the following spiritual Blessings:

1. Grace,
2. Mercy,
3. Peace.

These spiritual blessings are from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us define each of these blessings:

GRACE: unmerited favor of God
MERCY: kindness shown, mercy quickens and does not kill
PEACE: the state of being calm or quite ( ex. A peaceful village)

Peacemaker is a godly person who tries to persuade people or countries to stop arguing or fighting and to make peace. The sons of God are peacemakers and they are blessed. Verse 18 says: spiritual son must ” war a good warfare”. It is a fight of faith, destined to win. God is on my side, So I am a winner! We must hold faith and good conscience.
