Praise the LORD. Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, we are going to get God’s message from Genesis 1;1-5. The title of my message to you is “ THE FIRST DAY OF THE CREATION”. In these five verses, five activities of God are recorded:
GOD’S CREATION: The first verse of the Bible says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". Why creation? This reveals God’s loving care for human beings. God first created the heavens and earth before He created material things and human beings. The Hebrew word for God is “ELOHIM”. God is one, He exists in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The scripture says in I John 5:7: “ For there are three that bear witness in heaven; the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one”. The Father God created all things in the world through His Word. The Word is Jesus Christ. All things were created through Him. For the word of God is living and powerful. Let us read John 1:1-3: “ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and Without Him nothing was made that was made”. This means that in God, there is Word. The word was God. The Word is God. He is Jesus Christ. This speaks about the existence of God before creation, and He is the Creator. God created us through the Spirit of God. He created all things through the Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. THE CREATION OF THE EARTH : Genesis 1:2 says: “ The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the Waters”. The two earthly substances mentioned here are the earth and the waters. The divine person is the Spirit of God. There were three negative conditions: The earth was
This was the chaos, which happened. The reason is revealed in the prophetical books. Form is the shape of something. To form means to become or make a particular shape. Void is completely lacking something. In soil mechanics, soil is a three phase medium which consists of air, water and the soil particles. There is also a void in between soil particles. The void ratio is defined as the ratio of volume of voids to the total volume of soil. The another word for void is empty. The third condition was darkness. The darkness is the state of being dark. The absence of light is darkness. These were the conditions of the earth. God created everything good. God is not the author of these conditions. The same state of conditions exist in the fallen state of human beings. Therefore light is necessary to change these conditions. This light is the Gospel light. St. Paul explains this in 2. Corinthians 4:4 and Romans 1:21: “ Whose minds the god of this world has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them”. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. The reason for the blindness is the god of this age. Sin blinds you, because of your unbelief. Christ ( Messiah) is the image of God. His glory is the light of the gospel ( good news ). Switch on the light, darkness disappears. LET THERE BE LIGHT : Genesis 1:3 says: “ Then God said, “ Let there be light”, and there was light”. God used His word to change these conditions. Four important words: “LET THERE BE LIGHT “. The Bible says: “God is light” ( I John 1:5 ). Jesus revealed the light; saying, “ I am the light of the world”. When His word is spoken over your life, light will appear in your situation. Your confusion will turn into peace., your darkness will turn into light, your sorrow will turn into joy, your lack will turn into plenty, your void ( emptiness) will turn into fullness. Praise God. Say Hallelujah! David prayed like this: “ For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness” ( Psalm 18:28 ). What a prophetical prayer it is! God will light up your physical eyes and He shall enlighten your spiritual eyes also. God uses His word to enlighten you. When you receive this light, you will not walk in darkness. You shall have the light of life. THE LIGHT IS GOOD : Genesis 1:4 says: “ And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness”. Anything comes from God is good. God sees the light. God has planted a light in your Body. King Solomon said: “ The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the inner depths of his heart” ( Proverbs 20:27 ) Our LORD Jesus Christ said; “ The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness”. ( St. Matthew 6:22,23 ) Just as a lamp needs oil to give light inside the house, your spirit needs the life of God to be alive and shine for Him. Due to capillary rise phenomenon of the fluid, which here is the oil, rises inside you, enlightens your inner eyes and your physical eyes are opened and you see clearly the light. God created the cosmic light in the first day. But the greatest miracle is receiving God’s life inside your spirit and you be born again. The scripture says in John 1: 4,5 “ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”. The word of God is living and powerful. The Holy Spirit shall come upon you and you shall receive power. That life, which is in God the Father, comes inside your spirit, and you become a light, and begin to shine as stars in the firmament. I believe, Jesus does this miracle in you even today. And you know and understand that light is good. You have that light on the inside of you. Therefore, Arise and shine. GOD CALLS YOU LIGHT: Genesis 1: 5 says: “ God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day”. There was light, because the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. God called the light Day. God has shone in our hearts to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corin.4:6). By the way of the seaside the people are distressed, and they are heavily oppressed; therefore, the gloom was upon them. What happened to them as the Great light walked among them? Isaiah 9 :2 says: “ The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined”. This great light is Jesus Christ. And we are the light of the world. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:8 as : “ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light”. God is light. He says: “You are light in Me, because I am in you; My children, walk in the light”. This is the key to victorious Christian life, that is walking in the light of New identity in Christ Jesus. God calls you light. You are not darkness. Jesus says, “ You are the light of the world”. Therefore, walk (live ) as children of light. Praise God for this truth. God, please change the condition of “ without form, empty, and darkness” in the life of people.. Let them have shape, fullness and light. If anyone’s mind and heart are darkened, Lord Jesus, please remove darkness and make them light in the world. God, make our eyes good, and enlighten our minds of understanding. And Lord God, please send your light to the people who are distressed, oppressed and gloomed. Let them see great light, Your Son and our Lord Jesus Christ.
