THE TREE OF LIFE

“ The Tree of Life “ in Eden ( Gen.2:9, 3;24) is used four times in Proverbs ( 3:18, 11:30, 13:12, 15:4) as a symbol of some spiritual blessing. The first and definite figure calls it the divine wisdom which in the final analysis, is none other than the Creator Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the Life. By believing Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus is the Messiah ( = the anointed one), we have everlasting life. The tree of life was an actual tree, with real fruit( Gen.3:22, Rev. 22;2), whose properties would have enabled even mortal men to live indefinitely. His words are life. By speaking the words of Jesus, we can impart life into people. Jesus has the words of eternal life.

1. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her ;
And happy is everyone that findeth her. Proverbs 3: 18
2. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life ;
And He that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs 11:20
3. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick;
But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life…Proverbs 13:12
4. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life;
But perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. Proverbs 15:4

Divine wisdom, Soul winning, fulfilled hope, speaking healing words are compared ro tree of life. All these things are in Jesus Himself.. Therefore, our Lord Jesus Christ is the tree of life for us. Let us partake of His divine nature to have His divine power.

Revelation 2:7, 22:2,14 speaks about the tree of life. Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”

Revelation 22:2 Through the middle of the broadway of the city; also, on either side of the river was the tree of life with its twelve varieties of fruit, yielding each month its fresh crop; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing and the restoration of the nations.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed (happy and [a]to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city.
